Designed to work in short-range applications both indoors and outdoors, the sensor can be mounted horizontally to create invisible laser planes and protect roofs, skylights and ceilings, or vertically to create virtual laser walls and protect high-value assets, perimeter doors or facades.

The REDSCAN mini-Pro features an integrated camera that provides an additional layer of security intelligence by recording and saving detailed video and logs to verify the cause of an alarm for post-event analysis. Thanks to its IR LED with adjustable light sensitivity, the sensor provides continuous monitoring in any lighting condition. Detection is unaffected by weather, temperature, or changes in light, ensuring consistent and accurate performance year-round in a wide range of high-security applications.

To suit the needs of each installation, the REDSCAN mini-Pro allows for the configuration of eight independent detection zones, each with its own sensitivity, target size, and alarm output settings. This enables zone and risk level settings to be optimized to maximize detection rates and minimize false alarms.

Masaya Kida, Managing Director of OPTEX EMEA, states that the new REDSCAN mini-Pro provides unsurpassed detection and has been developed to meet evolving customer needs: “OPTEX was the first company to use laser technology for security, launching the first REDSCAN models in 2009. Today, REDSCAN sensors successfully protect thousands of sites, from rail transport to critical infrastructure. We listened to our customers’ feedback and used our expertise as leaders in this field to develop the REDSCAN mini-Pro to meet their need for greater flexibility and enhanced network security.”.

"This is a small but highly adaptable sensor, suitable for use in a wide variety of situations. The REDSCAN mini-Pro offers highly accurate detection, with an intelligent dynamic event filtering function that helps security teams prioritize alerts and identify real threats, making it the ideal solution for protecting high-value assets and high-security sites."

The sensors are also compatible with ONVIF Profile S, allowing for seamless integration into any security infrastructure.

The REDSCAN mini-Pro series includes two models: the RLS-2020V, with an integrated camera and built-in IR LED, and the RLS-2020A, which comes without a camera for customers who only need to collect anonymized 2D data. Both models will be available in the EMEA region starting in September 2023.
