This range of user-friendly and intuitive devices allows for the identification of patch cables with or without a signal, traffic location without generating interference, and the detection of damaged links or problems such as bends and faulty splices.
Some of the newer models enable pulsed or continuous signal injection, detectable without a connection, to facilitate the work of installers and maintenance personnel.
The following families stand out within the new range:
- EXFO LFD-200: Enables traffic detection and direction measurement using various types of replaceable heads. Some models allow for received power measurement from 0 to -40 dBm or from 23 to -50 dBm. It can be used with 1.6, 2, and 3 mm cords and 250 and 950 µm fibers.
- EXFO LFD-250: Uses a single self-adjusting head for 1.6 to 3 mm cords and 900 µm fibers; with maximum insertion loss of 1 dB in G652 optical fiber.
It features a built-in power meter (from +25 to -35 dBm) and a frequency detector (270 Hz and 1 and 2 kHz), as well as fiber traffic detection with direction indication.
- EXFO LFD300 / TG300: This family comprises a set of non-intrusive tools for traffic detection and direction finding, and power measurement. The LFD300 / TG3000 units include the TG-300 microbend tone generator and the LFD-300 identifier, which are designed to be used together. They can also be supplied as a kit (TK-FF versions).
