Allied Telesis launches its next-generation FTTx solution SwitchBlade x3112
Allied Telesis presents the SwitchBlade x3112 FTTx switching platform, the latest in its range of FTTx solutions.
Today, the FTTH Council Europe published the latest edition of the European FTTH/B Market Panorama, produced by iDate, which provides a comprehensive update on fiber-to-the-home deployment and adoption in Europe. The report, based on data collected up to September 2025, highlights the continued growth in fiber deployment and adoption in the region, while also noting a gradual transition to a more mature market phase.
Nokia today announced new software tools and AI models that improve operational efficiency and network reliability. The new digital features, part of Nokia's Altiplano platform, will enable operators to create a complete digital twin of their FTTH network and establish a single, unified view of active and passive components.
The HUBER+SUHNER Ribbon end-to-end solution sets new standards for data center management. It features mass fusion splicing, a space-saving design, reduced downtime, and faster deployments.
Fibramerica has introduced the FAST SIMPRECON pre-connectorized solution, which uses industry-standard components such as mechanical connectors and drop cables, enabling quick installations without the need to open the enclosure. The solution includes a reinforced universal adapter, a high-strength plastic cover, and an effective rubber seal, offering resistance and safety in accordance with international IP65 and IP68 standards.
This latest addition to the RESA family will help accelerate the rollout of FTTH to individual properties in rural residential areas. This modular connectivity solution offers operators an easy-to-install alternative. The RESA CC is smaller and more compact than its cousin, the RESA Splice Closure (RESA SC), which also requires a different deployment method.
In fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments, residential buildings represent the final hurdle and, sometimes, an impregnable fortress that only opens its doors to those with the permission of its residents. Access to these buildings can become a bottleneck for operators when planning a fiber-to-the-home rollout.
The new suite paves the way for XGS-PON networks that will power smart cities, next-generation wireless networks, and the commercial and consumer services of the future—such as virtual reality gaming, telehealth, online education, and next-generation manufacturing—around the world.
The prevalence of fiber-based communication infrastructure continues to grow across the European continent. A recent report by market research firm iDate predicts that the number of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) subscribers in the EU/UK will almost triple by 2026, rising from the current 49 million to a projected 148 million.
Nokia has launched Gigabit Connect to make it easier for fiber network providers to deploy gigabit broadband services in MDUs where the last connection segment is via twisted pair or coaxial cables.
FOLAN has introduced a new range of plastic optical patch panels. FOLAN launched its new range of pivoting optical patch panels, designed entirely from plastic and dedicated to FTTH deployment.
D-Link wants to help parents with parental control through its EXO range routers and the free D-Link Defend app (iOS/Android) based on the McAfee Secure Home™, which allows for complete and intuitive parental control: setting internet connection schedules for the devices that children will use,
HellermannTyton has unveiled its broadband connectivity portfolio for FTTX. The company supplies fiber from the point of presence (PoP) to the building and through to the customer's tap-off point.
HellermannTyton has launched its catalog of fiber optic solutions, which includes splice boxes and accessories, adapters and connectors, patch cords and pigtails, wall boxes, and accessories. All of these solutions are designed to meet the needs of FTTX applications.
The COFITEL Group supplies FTTH-SLM (Smart Link Mapper), the latest update to the FTTH version of VIAVI's Smart Link Mapper (SLM) software application. Fiber certification can be challenging. OTDRs are often considered difficult tools to configure and interpret.
GPONDoctor Scoop, the company born in January 2016 with the acquisition of the testing equipment company WYZARTEL, SL from TECNALIA Research & Innovation, presents GPON Doctor™ 4000, a professional tool for troubleshooting and debugging a GPON FTTh network.
GTLAN offers its customers a variety of easy-to-use and transportable equipment for FTTx installations. The equipment includes:
Kamaxoptics presents its range of attenuators for optical fiber that introduce a specific attenuation to adjust optical power levels.
RAD has announced the addition of a new option to its ETX-2i vCPE product line, a server-based whitebox vCPE, with upgradeable licenses for PNFs such as routing, service demarcation, and performance monitoring, a solution called Whitebox+.
The market for ONT equipment for fiber optic networks under GPON technology is heavily protected by large manufacturers, who produce and supply both OLTs and ONTs to ISPs and Network Infrastructure Operators.
The FTTH/B market remains in an early stage in the LATAM region: at the end of 2015, there were 3.65 million subscribers and 20.1 million households in the 16 countries analyzed.
