The platform, which provides very high-quality simulation of PAM4 and PAM8 signals, consists of the Anritsu MP1800A signal quality analyzer (Bit Error Rate Tester, BERT) and the new MZ1834A PAM4 converter. The demonstration analyzes the output signal using the LeCroy LabMaster 65GHz oscilloscope.

The MP1800A/MZ1834A test platform will be on display for visitors to Anritsu at booth 379 of the ECOC show.

The MP1800A is also on display in a separate demonstration of a test system used by Xyratex (part of Seagate), the Fraunhofer Institute, IZM, and ILFA in the SEPIANet research project. This project has successfully developed embedded planar crystal waveguide optical backplane technologies and pluggable optical interconnects in high-speed data communication systems.

The project measurement configuration included the MP1800A due to its excellent eye quality, extremely low intrinsic jitter, and fast transition times, specified for data transmission speeds between 100Mbps and 56Gbps.

In July, Anritsu launched a new generation of its renowned Network Master family of optical field testers. Visitors to booth 379 can conduct hands-on evaluations of the new MT1000A Network Master Pro, a comprehensive optical network field tester that supports the multiple communication protocols used in today's converged telecommunications networks. Targeting technicians involved in the installation and maintenance of mobile access, fixed access, metropolitan area networks, and transmission backbones, it is the first portable field tester with full OTN planning capabilities.

Demonstrations of the MT9083 Access Master OTDR for the installation and maintenance of optical networks will also be held in a fourth section of the Anritsu booth. Visitors will be able to evaluate features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and the innovative Fiber Visualizer tool, which facilitates visual verification of fiber connection quality.
