Based on Fluke Networks’ popular LinkRunner and LinkSprinter handheld network testers, Link-Solutions provides PC and frontline technicians, managed on-site IT teams, systems integrators, and value-added resellers with a cohesive way to perform copper, fiber, and Ethernet testing and then manage the results through a unified cloud-based dashboard, regardless of the testers used. The company also announced the availability of the award-winning LinkSprinter in Spain for the first time.
An adaptable network connectivity testing solution designed to grow with any business,
Link-Solutions comprises three products that work together to give IT organizations unparalleled flexibility in how they manage their network connectivity test results. As an organization’s network grows in complexity, they can leverage more sophisticated Link-Solutions components, including:
• LinkRunner AT Network Tester. The LinkRunner AT, one of the industry's most widely used handheld testers, provides a comprehensive solution for testing copper and fiber optic networks, including 10/100/1000 Mbps network connectivity, link status verification, PoE load, connectivity type, and signal strength. The LinkRunner also features AutoTest, which, with the push of a button, performs a complete suite of network connectivity tests for both copper and fiber, displaying results quickly.
• LinkSprinter Pocket Network Tester Family. In addition to the existing DHCP, gateway, and internet connection confirmations offered by the LinkSprinter 100 and 200, Fluke Networks introduces a new model, the LinkSprinter 300, which measures cable status and length and can also blink the hub port. A new feature common to both the LinkSprinter and LinkRunner AT devices is the buffer size, which has been increased to accommodate the results of up to twelve tests, instead of the previous maximum of four.
• Link-Live Cloud Service. By linking test results from the LinkRunner AT and LinkSprinter, this cloud service provides a unified view of all test results for a project within a single interface. The Link-Live cloud service offers two subscription levels to suit the specific needs of each organization: a free "Essentials" service, which comes standard with all LinkRunner AT and LinkSprinter tools, and a new "Job Pro" service, which offers an expanded feature set for a subscription fee. The annual fee for the Job Pro service starts at $48 USD and includes unlimited testing with up to 10 testers.
In addition to these new features, Fluke Networks also introduced its Link-Solutions pricing packages, which offer organizations a discount when purchasing either the complete Link-Solutions kit containing both products or a bundle of five or ten LinkSprinters.
"Link-Solutions addresses a variety of needs. Whether it's simply providing a tester affordable enough for every team member to have their own, or tailoring testers to each user's skill level, Link-Solutions offers unparalleled adaptability and affordability for managing test results," said Daryle DeBalski, vice president and general manager of the corporate business unit for Fluke Networks. "Our cloud service operates with an intuitive interface accessible from any computer or smart device, allowing users to review, edit, and comment on LinkSprinter and LinkRunner AT results in just seconds. This represents a significant leap forward in convenience and time savings for anyone on the job site or managing a project, especially when using both tools simultaneously."
Link-Live Job Pro offers sophisticated features for organizations with more complex needs.
The Link-Live Job Pro service streamlines test results management and allows organizations to easily switch between tools:
• Reporting and Analysis: Link-Live Pro gives users the ability to generate detailed analytics pages from a combination of LinkSprinter or LinkRunner devices. Reports include graphical representations of test results and are fully customizable, even allowing the addition of a company logo—a particularly useful feature for systems integrators and value-added resellers who need to send reports to a client as proof of completed work.
• Detailed documentation: Link-Live Pro allows users to attach photos taken with mobile devices to test results. Field technicians can perform tests and photograph a wall connector or the serial number of an installed device—a benefit for installers who need to retain evidence of any completed work.
• Streamlined workflow: Link-Live is a web application, so organizations never need to download a separate mobile app. Using only their smartphone, field technicians can capture data on-site and add it to the results of one or more tests as a comment. Comments can be pre-configured and as granular as needed to reference one or more tests.
• Project management: Users can organize test results for each project based on work sites, specific buildings, plan locations, etc., before the tests even begin. This highly customizable feature allows you to pre-classify these results so that they are automatically archived as they are completed, including any images or comments that should be associated with a specific test.
