Based on the original CleanBlast device, the new system offers the advantages of its predecessor and incorporates very useful improvements when cleaning a wide variety of fiber optic terminations in optical component production plants and optical system assembly and contract outsourced cable assembly manufacturing centers.
The CleanBlastPRO system is equipped with an internal solvent reservoir, an air filtration system, a cleaning control unit, a 1.8 m umbilical cable, LED indicators, and an LCD screen. Connected to an air source, the user can automatically clean fiber optic connectors (with the push of a single button).
Furthermore, with a precise, contactless air-solvent-air sequence that loosens and removes the "contaminants", dirt is removed from the finishes, instead of spreading or encrusting it.
It is also possible to optimize specific cleaning profiles for different types of connectors. Each profile is associated with a series of precision parameters for air, solvent, and suction, configured down to the millisecond to achieve optimal cleaning performance.
CleanBlastPRO uses 3M Novec™ 72DA solvent, one of the most effective solvents for cleaning fiber optic terminations. The internal, splash-proof solvent reservoir makes it easy to transport around the room or anywhere else, while the front ports allow for a full refill (one liter) in under two minutes. A fuel gauge indicates the amount of solvent remaining.
On the other hand, this new feature incorporates additional connections for an auxiliary air tank, an actuation pedal, and a controller extension for a rear motherboard.
If that weren't enough, it also features a wide selection of high-precision cleaning tips that cover most types of fiber optic connectors: male (patch cable), female (connector plate), PC and APC, including SC, LC, FC, ST, E2000, MPO, MPX, MT, SMA, HMFOC, SN and CS, among others.
Thus, the CleanBlastPRO also helps to reduce the consumption of high-cost cleaning materials, such as cloths, clicker-type connector cleaners, swabs, etc.
The system, which measures 203 x 205 x 329 mm (8 x 8 x 13”) and weighs 13.6 kg (30 lbs) with a full tank, operates on a source of clean, dry air or nitrogen (N2) and an air/gas pressure of 5.5 to 9.6 bar (80 to 140 psi), with a nominal value of 6.9 bar (100 psi).
