HDBaseT technology replaces multiple cables and connectors used in business and home entertainment environments with a single LAN cable. The cornerstone of HDBaseT technology is 5Play™, a feature set capable of transmitting uncompressed Full HD video, audio, 100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity, power, and control signals over a single CAT5e/6 cable. HDBaseT is optimized for professional A/V (audio and video) installations and provides a simple and affordable solution for transmitting A/V signals over distances of up to 100 meters.

ATEN's VE812 and VE814 HDMI extenders already support HDBaseT technology, enabling the transmission of 4K2K video over distances of up to 100 meters using Cat 5e cable. The company plans to integrate this standard into other professional A/V products, such as 4K2K multimedia distribution solutions, in the near future. ATEN will showcase new products supporting this technology at ISE in Amsterdam, from February 4-6, 2014.
