This includes both a standalone eSIM component and an integrated offering that combines the eSIM with remote management services. Together, Thales and Avnet Silica can offer a comprehensive turnkey solution to industry partners, providing a single product ready for large-scale field deployment with integrated connectivity supplied by Avnet Silica's partners.
As large-scale IoT deployments and industrial connectivity continue to accelerate, engineering teams face increasing challenges in security, remote subscription management, and regulatory compliance. To meet these demands, secure-by-design, standards-based connectivity solutions capable of supporting large-scale deployments across diverse operating environments are required.
Through this agreement, Avnet Silica expands its secure, standards-compliant connectivity portfolio, providing industrial and IoT customers in EMEA with access to Thales' GSMA-certified eSIM solutions. Thales' SGP.32 eSIM technology is designed for massive IoT deployments, enabling simplified remote provisioning and large-scale device management, while SGP.22 is suitable for consumer and hybrid use cases where widely adopted remote SIM provisioning is required. Both options offer a flexible, standards-compliant foundation for connected products that operate over long lifecycles and across multiple regulatory regions.
Under this agreement, Avnet Silica and Thales are actively collaborating to deliver a simplified, ready-to-deploy solution compatible with any IoT device. Avnet Silica offers a complete, ready-to-use solution based on Thales' SGP.32 eSIM technology. This solution, previously validated end-to-end in testing and deployment, eliminates complex integration steps, enabling immediate adoption in Europe in key sectors such as industrial automation, smart metering, digital health, and critical infrastructure.
“The growth of highly distributed, large-scale IoT places unprecedented demands on the security, manageability, and regulatory compliance of connectivity,” said Thomas Foj, Vice President of Supplier Management, Solutions, and Digitalization EMEA at Avnet Silica. “By partnering with Thales, we strengthen our ability to help engineering teams deploy secure, standards-based eSIM solutions that reduce complexity and ensure reliable operations in global deployments.”.
“We are proud to partner with Avnet Silica to bring unity to a fragmented IoT market. Our vision is to dramatically simplify how businesses connect the world. With the new SGP.32 standard, we are eliminating the complexity of managing large fleets of devices. Together, we offer the ability to scale, allowing customers to orchestrate their deployments with complete confidence. This is how we build a secure, future-proof foundation,” said Guillaume Lafaix, VP Connectivity Solutions and Embedded Products at Thales.
