Thanks to this collaboration, Fujitsu will drive the large-scale acceleration of AI-based transformation in Japanese companies, while also contributing to strengthening the security and reliability of social infrastructures, including critical systems.

Fujitsu will adopt and extensively utilize Anthropic's artificial intelligence technologies, including Claude, across its entire organization. Through this practical application, Fujitsu will expand and consolidate its applied expertise, thereby contributing to the advancement of AI-driven transformation in Japanese businesses and society at large.

As a company involved in critical infrastructure both in Japan and globally, Fujitsu also recognizes its responsibility to strengthen security in the age of artificial intelligence. Through this collaboration, Fujitsu will gain early access to Anthropic's most advanced models and, by developing and implementing solutions based on them, will offer its customers more advanced and practical AI applications.

Furthermore, Fujitsu possesses its own AI technologies, such as the Fujitsu Kozuchi platform and the Takane Large Language Model (LLM) [1]. By combining these capabilities with Anthropic's technologies, Fujitsu will be able to select, design, and integrate the most suitable AI solutions based on each client's needs, taking into account aspects such as data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, security, and performance, while also ensuring a secure and reliable implementation. Starting from a multi-system AI environment, Fujitsu will combine Anthropic's advanced AI with its own technologies to address diverse use cases.

Furthermore, Fujitsu will continue to advance its initiatives to promote a society based on safe and reliable AI (AI Trust) and will explore the application of advanced technologies — including HPC and next-generation hybrid platforms, such as quantum computing — in cutting-edge AI fields.

Through these initiatives, Fujitsu will promote the social implementation of safe and reliable artificial intelligence, enabling its trusted use even in critical and mission-critical environments.

Main initiatives of the alliance

- Strengthening the FDE business through the use of Anthropic's AI services

Thanks to this collaboration, Fujitsu will leverage Anthropic's Claude to strengthen and expand its Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) model, aimed at turning AI into tangible business value.

Fujitsu has accumulated extensive practical experience with this model through strategic collaborations with leading technology partners, including Palantir Technologies. By working closely with customers and combining industry expertise with proprietary technologies such as Fujitsu Kozuchi and Takane, the company has accelerated the implementation and adoption of AI, from use case design to deployment.

By combining this FDE model with Claude, Fujitsu will go beyond simple technology implementation to offer AI applications directly linked to real business value, based on close collaboration with customers and deep industry knowledge.

- Evolution of cybersecurity

With the goal of strengthening cyber defense capabilities in the AI era, Fujitsu will drive cybersecurity improvements for businesses, critical infrastructure, and essential services. The company aims to evolve from traditional models, relying solely on experts, toward new operating models where human expertise and artificial intelligence work together to enable faster and more effective responses

In particular, Fujitsu will facilitate both the use of AI and robust cyber defense in critical environments. With the advancement of AI technologies, addressing cybersecurity challenges has become a significant societal issue. In collaboration with the Japanese government, the company will leverage its acquired knowledge to contribute to strengthening security across society.

Creating and scaling an AI usage model through internal practice

Approximately 100,000 Fujitsu Group employees will actively use Anthropic's Claude to improve and accelerate operations, while also validating the safe and reliable use of AI in real-world environments. Specifically, Fujitsu will incorporate technologies that enhance AI reliability and establish technological and operational frameworks that ensure security, transparency, and control in its use. The knowledge and standardized methodologies gained in this process will then be transferred to customers to foster the adoption of highly reliable AI among Japanese companies.

As announced in February 2026, Fujitsu is already making progress on AI-powered development platforms and working on automating large-scale system upgrade processes using AI agents based on its Takane model. Combining these initiatives with the use of Claude will allow the company to further increase development productivity.

Statements from executives

Takahito Tokita, Representative Director and CEO of Fujitsu, stated: “We believe that the rapid evolution and growth of AI must quickly translate into value creation for society; this is a top priority for us as a technology company. Through this collaboration, we will combine Fujitsu’s deep expertise across multiple industries and business areas—especially its extensive knowledge of critical environments—with Anthropic’s advanced AI models. With this, we aim to drive new value creation across various sectors and move towards a society built on reliable and trustworthy AI.”

Yoshinami Takahashi, Corporate Executive Officer, Corporate Vice President, and COO responsible for Solution Services, stated: “Fujitsu will become its own 'Customer Zero,' intensively utilizing Claude alongside its Takane and Kozuchi technologies to profoundly transform internal operations and development. We will immediately apply the knowledge gained to our customers, enabling not only AI implementation but also a complete business transformation. Through this alliance, we will strengthen and accelerate our FDE model, ensuring that AI continuously translates into real value through close integration with customer operations. This will accelerate the structural transformation of companies and facilitate the transition to higher value-added business models. Through our own transformation, Fujitsu will firmly lead the AI transformation in Japan.”

Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer of Anthropic, added: “The institutions that underpin Japanese society—its banks, hospitals, government agencies, and critical infrastructure—demand the highest standards in artificial intelligence. Fujitsu has been the technology partner of these institutions for decades and will now deploy Claude to 100,000 of its employees, in addition to creating a team of 1,000 engineers to bring this technology to its customers. This is one of the most significant commitments to cutting-edge AI in the Japanese market, and we are proud that Anthropic is the partner Fujitsu trusts to make it a reality.”
