The Xceed Software Suite (Xceed) provides integrated, open, and modular components for SDN automation of multi-layer programmable transport networks, enabling service providers to create new revenue streams and automate network operations. Built on the open-source OpenDaylight SDN controller, Xceed is designed to be scalable and highly available to support real-time changes in transport networks.
“Network operators around the world are deploying software-defined networks to increase service agility and automate the management of multi-vendor networks,” said Chris Liou, Vice President of Network Strategy at Infinera. “Infinera is excited to work with the OIF and ONF, and industry-leading operators, to demonstrate how our open software solutions interoperate in a multi-vendor environment to accelerate service delivery while simplifying network operations.”.
OIF SDN Transport API Interoperability Demonstration in 2016
The OIF and ONF have partnered to guide the industry toward the large-scale deployment of commercial SDN by testing the T-API. The interoperability testing and demonstration, managed by the OIF, will address multi-layer and multi-domain environments in global support labs. The testing builds upon the 2014 demonstration, which was based on prototype T-APIs and contributed to the standardization of SDN transport. Additional use cases based on the API standards will be clarified during the testing and defined through OIF application agreements to provide a common set of requirements.
The global operators participating in the interoperability test include China Telecom, China Unicom, SK Telecom, Telefónica and Verizon.
The regional launch event demonstration will take place in early 2017, and a technical report will be publicly available. Additional information can be found at http://www.oiforum.com/meetings-and-events/2016-oif-sdn-t-api-demo/.
About the OIF:
Launched in 1998, the OIF is the first industry group to unite representatives from the optical networking and data disciplines, including many of the world's leading operators, component manufacturers, and system providers. The OIF promotes the development and deployment of interoperable networking solutions and services by creating Implementation Agreements (IAS) for optical, interconnect, network processing, component, and system technologies. The OIF actively supports and expands upon the work of industry standards bodies and forums to promote global compatibility of optical network interconnect products. Information about the OIF can be found at http://www.oiforum.com.
