In this way, both institutions have just signed a collaboration agreement to establish a joint training project that will include different masterclasses, seminars, presentations and round tables, in relation to the latest and most innovative technologies in the telecommunications sector that are helping companies in all sectors to digitize their businesses “with purpose”.
In this vein, Néstor Sánchez Doreste, director of the School of Engineering, Science and Technology at VIU, points out “the importance of training in digital technologies with a purpose. At the International University of Valencia, we aim to train professionals in the telecommunications sector to innovate and digitize, meaningfully, the companies where they will work. It's not about innovation for innovation's sake; it's about putting telecommunications technologies at the service of companies to generate a positive impact on their businesses that benefits the rest of society. Therefore, this agreement with COITCV will undoubtedly improve the training of our students and their preparation for professional life by offering them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the complexities and challenges facing the telecommunications sector. The benefits of the various joint activities that will be organized will be more than evident to both parties.”.
Thanks to this new agreement, students at VIU's School of Engineering, Science and Technology will be trained by leading professionals in the telecommunications sector from the moment they begin their undergraduate and master's degrees. They will also have access to joint sessions where COITCV experts and VIU faculty will explain how to digitize companies with a purpose. Furthermore, VIU students will be able to receive mentorship for their Master's and Bachelor's theses from COITCV professionals, and both institutions will collaborate to identify talent among students in order to integrate that knowledge and those skills into companies within the sector.
This agreement also grants COITCV members access to top talent trained in telecommunications and to online university education at the International University of Valencia. Furthermore, both institutions are working on new areas of collaboration to strengthen the agreement, for the benefit of their members.
This agreement was formalized in a signing ceremony attended by Eva María Giner, Rector of the International University of Valencia and Sergio Riolobos, Dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers of the Valencian Community.
The Rector of VIU points out that
“Training our students at the School of Engineering, Science and Technology in purpose-driven telecommunications technologies is fundamental for the International University of Valencia. It is a source of great satisfaction that, thanks to this agreement with the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers of the Valencian Community, our students will have the opportunity to learn to innovate from the very beginning, guided by leading professionals in the sector. Only in this way will they be able to understand the challenges they will face in their professional work and acquire the necessary skills to put technologies at the service of social well-being and impact.”. For his part, Sergio Riolobos, Dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers of the Valencian Community, states that "
This agreement is especially relevant for our institution. We thank the VIU School of Engineering, Science and Technology for the magnificent opportunity it offers our professionals to share their knowledge, experiences, and real-world projects in digitalization, sustainability, and innovation across all types of companies and organizations, both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, our members' access to online university education at the International University of Valencia allows us to continue fulfilling our commitment to securing the best options for continuing education and professional development for our members. This is just the beginning of a series of collaborative initiatives that we hope to incorporate into this agreement soon.
