The Astrocast network enables companies to control, track, and communicate with remote satellite assets using the Astronode S module, available from Mouser Electronics. The Astronode S is a satellite communication module with a serial interface and a compact, surface-mountable form factor. The device is optimized for low power consumption, making it ideal for battery-powered and highly integrated IoT systems. The Astronode S module allows for up to 10 years of bidirectional satellite communication and monitoring of devices on a single battery.
Mouser also offers the Astronode Patch, a miniature antenna designed for communication with Astrocast IoT satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). It is manufactured on a high-permittivity ceramic substrate, resulting in a smaller antenna that maintains good RF performance at the Astrocast network's L-band operating frequencies. The antenna's extremely low profile allows for placement virtually anywhere and simplifies integration with other devices.
Mouser will also offer the Astronode S+, a certified, ready-to-install industrial satellite communication device based on the Astronode S and an Astronode Patch antenna. The Astronode S+ is designed for quick and easy connection to applications via the Astronode S's full digital interface or RS232, both available on an industrial-grade board-to-cable connector. No resources are required for electronic and RF design, reducing time to market. This device features a small form factor, enabling discreet installations.
