This formal agreement strengthens the excellent relationship that has existed between the two companies for many years and is designed to expand the service offered to engineers developing applications in medical electronics, industrial applications, telecommunications, and aerospace, among others. These customers will benefit from faster access to a wider selection of FCT products through the RS website, as well as the free design tools available on RS Online.
RS stocks over 200 FCT D-Sub connectors and, following this agreement, plans to expand its product range in the coming months. All FCT D-Sub connectors, including standard, SMT, THT, crimp, and DualPort versions, are available in various material and coating combinations. For example, housings can be supplied in a non-magnetic, chemically nickel-plated brass version or gold-plated for use in aerospace and medical applications.
The mixed-design D-Sub series includes high-power, high-voltage, pneumatic, and coaxial contacts in various configurations. The housing dimensions of the high-density D-Sub series are similar to those of standard D-Sub connectors, but significantly increase the number of contacts.
Kevin McCormack, Global Head of IP&E at RS Components, commented: "FCT has a successful track record of supplying interconnect products in various markets. Having RS as a distribution partner is a clear reflection of their new strategy aimed at streamlining and facilitating the delivery of their products to their customers, creating substantial growth opportunities for the company."
“The signing of our first distribution agreement with RS represents a significant strategic move for FCT, and clearly reflects our intention to make our products more readily available to a wider range of customers worldwide,” added Tony Monaghan, FCT’s UK Sales Manager. “RS has both the global structure and market expertise, as well as an innovative approach to customer service, which will enable us to achieve our goal.”
FCT's D-Sub product series is available at RS online with 24-hour delivery.
