Semtech Corporation has announced a strategic agreement with Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) to offer its LoRa Cloud™ geolocation services through the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) with the goal of helping the global AWS developer community build asset tracking and monitoring solutions and connect IoT (Internet of Things) devices to the cloud through LoRa Edge™. Device location with AWS IoT Core is available in seven regions worldwide for immediate use with AWS IoT Core. Semtech's LoRa Edge device-to-cloud solution is highly versatile thanks to its low-power, software-defined platform, which offers indoor and outdoor geolocation along with a multi-band LoRa® and LR-FHSS transceiver compatible with terrestrial and global LoRaWAN® satellite networks. This scalable, low-power, and cost-effective technology is ideal for numerous IoT applications, including those in the industrial, buildings, homes, agriculture, transportation, and logistics markets.

Klika Tech, the US-based global systems integrator and product developer, leveraged Semtech’s LoRa Edge asset tracking platform and Amazon IoT Core device location to build a smart pill container for its customer Counted. “Semtech’s LoRa Edge geolocation solution is scalable, low-power, and cost-effective, making it a perfect product for this consumer medical application from Counted,” said Gennadiy M. Borisov, president and co-CEO of Klika Tech.
This feature will be compatible with various hardware devices that incorporate Semtech's LoRa Edge and are already available on the market, for example from Semtech and Miromico, or will be available in the coming months, for example from Tektelic and Mikrotik.
