Commenting on the announcement, Marc Randall, senior vice president and general manager of Avaya's networking division, said: “This is great news. Avaya's networking business will be integrated into a company fully focused on networking, better meeting the needs of our networking customers. By combining Avaya's innovative networking products and solutions with Extreme's leading portfolio, we will enable our customers to compete differently by offering more innovative and competitive solutions.”.

“While we work on the integration plans, business will continue as usual. We will work closely with our customers, partners, and third parties while continuing to meet their needs for secure, high-performance networking solutions,” says Randall. “Once the agreement is finalized, we will continue to deliver on our commitments to our customers and maintain the high levels of service and support they expect. We will ensure our customers realize a return on their investment in Avaya by leveraging the complementary portfolios of Avaya and Extreme products and services.”
The transaction is expected to close on or shortly thereafter, on or after July 1, 2017.
