The award will be presented at the ITWorldEdu 2012 Summit, the leading meeting point for professionals in the Education and ICT sectors, which will be held from October 23 to 25 in Barcelona.
The 5th ITWorldEdu Award aims to recognize the efforts of the educational field in creating and evaluating new digital resources; to acknowledge the role of teaching and administrative staff in educational institutions as key agents of innovation through the use of ICT; and to encourage and inform technology providers and the entire educational community about the most innovative tools that facilitate personalized learning and support teaching and management.
Any educational institution whose mission is education or training, from early childhood education to adult education, whether public, private, or subsidized, is eligible to apply for the ITWorldEdu 2012 Award; as is any company worldwide that dedicates its production resources to obtaining technological goods and services for education, training, and learning.
Applications, which can include as many projects as desired, can be submitted individually or as a group. The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2012, at midnight.
Three prizes will be awarded in the educational institutions category. Winning institutions will receive ICT solutions to enable them to continue experimenting with new ways to improve education through the use of cutting-edge technologies. In the business category, two awards will be given: one for integration capabilities and the other for innovation, with recognition from the Department of Education and the Directorate General of Telecommunications and Information Society of the Government of Catalonia.
ITWorldEdu 2012, a meeting point for excellence in educational technology,
is the fifth edition of this major event for professionals in the education and ICT sectors. Its objective is to collaboratively seek solutions that enhance the use of ICT in education. An open space for learning, exchanging ideas, networking, establishing business agreements, and presenting the latest developments in educational technology.
This event, organized by CETEI-Fundació Joan XXIII, is sponsored by the Government of Catalonia, the Barcelona City Council, and companies in the ICT sector.
