Mike Blackman, CEO of Integrated Systems Events, commented: “The impact that light can have as art has long been an area of interest for ISE, and we are very proud to be involved in this exciting light arts show in Barcelona. It will be an extraordinary exhibition, and we look forward to bringing some of its magical elements to ISE 2022 next year at Fira Gran Via.”.

Llum BCN will showcase national and international artists using light, movement, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence in their artworks to explore new forms and meanings for the city. For three nights (November 5-7, 2021), artists such as Pablo Valbuena, Quiet Ensemble, Playmodes, Guillermo Santomá, Onionlab, and Tigrelab will join 16 art, design, lighting, and architecture schools in Barcelona for a major event that will demonstrate the creative impact of light, digital technology, and moving images.

The jury's evaluation will take place over the weekend when the groups visit all the performances. Integrated Systems Events' Director of Operations, André Hoojer, will join the jury this year, which also includes:

Cristina Castells, director of the Barcelona Local Energy Agency;
Eulàlia Bosch of the Eugènia Balcells Foundation;
Mariona Omedes, winner of the 2011 National Culture Prize of Catalonia, awarded by CoNCA in the audiovisual category;
Jordi Costa, cultural manager and university professor;
Maria Güell, artistic director of Llum BCN

Lighting has long been an integral part of the ISE trade show, and plans are already underway to expand this area at ISE 2022. For example, the demonstration areas have been enlarged, with a new Lighting & Staging area that will feature many technologies designed to create amazing and immersive light experiences.

Integrated Systems Europe, ISE 2022, will take place at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via from February 1 to 4, 2022. The ISE conference program will run from Monday, January 31 to Friday, February 4.
