Data reported by Ovum also indicates that Infinera is the fastest growing supplier of DCI equipment worldwide.
In its recently published Optical Networks Market Share: Data Center Interconnect Application 4Q14 report, Ovum ranked Infinera number one, outperforming its competitors in the DCI market for ICP and CNP worldwide in 2014. Furthermore, Ovum ranked Infinera as the fastest-growing DCI vendor during the same period. These rankings underscore Infinera's performance in these segments and validate the company's approach to delivering the right products in the cloud and data center markets.
"The data center interconnect market is a rapidly growing segment for optical networking equipment providers. We expect this market to reach $2.4 billion by 2019," said Ron Kline, principal analyst at Ovum. "Our recent data shows that 2015 is shaping up to be a very exciting year as optimized 100G metro enters the DCI market."
"Today's cloud and data center networks are driven by a strong need for massive scalability while maintaining simplicity," said Stu Elby, senior vice president of Cloud Network Strategy and Technology at Infinera. "The purpose-built Infinera Cloud Xpress products, launched in December 2014, along with our flagship DTN-X, set the standard by which cloud networks are being built across metropolitan and long-haul areas."
Infinera is enabling network operators to deliver large amounts of bandwidth more easily. Whether for long-haul core, metropolitan, or emerging high-capacity metropolitan cloud networks, Infinera's intelligent transport networks are designed to help operators capitalize on the growing demand for cloud-based services and data center connectivity as they move into the Terabit Era.
