World of Volvo is a 22,000-square-meter experience center that houses permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as shows, presentations, and external events. In line with Volvo's long-standing commitment to safety, the project aims to ensure a safe experience for both visitors and the facilities from its opening.
“Since the building opened, our goal has been to protect it as effectively as possible. To achieve this, we have installed i-Pro cameras throughout the premises. To manage these cameras, we implemented Genetec Security Center, which allows us to respond quickly to any unexpected or suspicious events we detect,” says Ulf Hermansson, Facilities and Security Manager at World of Volvo. “We chose Genetec Security Center because it offers an excellent set of features and is easy to use.”
Comprehensive Protection.
In addition to its daily activity as an exhibition space, World of Volvo hosts third-party events, such as presentations and book launches, which require constant monitoring and agile operation from the control room. To this end, the security team monitors more than 100 i-Pro cameras, including PTZ, fisheye, and multi-sensor cameras.
According to Hermansson, ease of use was a determining factor in the choice of platform: “We selected the combination of i-Pro cameras and Genetec Security Center because it allows us to get up and running quickly and is easy to use. With Security Center, it's simple to see what's happening and make quick decisions about how to respond.” He also highlights the speed of implementation: “The platform's ease of use is fantastic; everything was installed and up and running in half a day.”
Centralized Monitoring:
The implementation of Genetec isn't limited to the experience center. A smaller Volvo warehouse also incorporated Genetec Security Center, allowing World of Volvo staff and security teams to monitor their perimeter. At this second site, SightLogix thermal cameras with PTZ cameras were installed, and thanks to the Genetec Security Center Federation functionality, alarm verification and door control are possible from a unified environment. Both centers also operate with Genetec Streamvault servers.
For World of Volvo, this infrastructure fully meets the brand's security standards. "With Security Center, we can now effectively monitor events to protect World of Volvo visitors," adds Hermansson. "Secure technology is in Volvo's DNA. The quality and functionalities of Genetec Security Center match our security standards, using intelligent technology. In fact, it ensures that our visitors feel as safe in our building as they would in a Volvo," he concludes.
