Since its launch last year, enrollments in the first two courses of Nokia's 5G learning program have exceeded 22,000 worldwide across numerous sectors. Building on this foundation, the new certifications highlight 5G's potential to revolutionize industries ranging from manufacturing and transportation to healthcare and beyond. The Nokia 5G Readiness Report concluded that by 2030, 5G will deliver $8 trillion in value to businesses, economies, and societies worldwide. Together, the training courses on distributed cloud networks and industrial automation networks reveal how 5G can enhance industry performance. Its improved speed and ultra-reliable low latency deliver tangible gains in safety, productivity, and efficiency.
As with the other courses in its 5G Certification Program, Nokia uses compelling, real-world examples of how 5G enables industrial automation, such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in a manufacturing environment. Building on this example, the Distributed Cloud Networks course demonstrates the power of edge cloud computing, essential for managing the real-time movement of AMRs through a confined manufacturing space.
The Nokia Bell Labs 5G Certification Program, accessible through the Nokia website, focuses on the knowledge and skills professionals need to fully leverage 5G capabilities today and in the future. Earning a certification by passing the associated exam will establish industry-recognized professional credentials. Two additional professional-level certifications in Network Slicing and Secure Networks will be launched later in 2021. Each course takes approximately six hours to complete and can be completed at the learner's own pace.
