By forecasting the broadband speeds that end users will demand, this webinar can also answer the question of whether there is a need for FTTH in the next decade.
The forecasting model used is primarily demand-driven:
• The first step is to define the universe of applications that will drive future broadband usage, including assumptions about bandwidth requirements for Mbit/s speed and quality of service.
• Second, potential customers for high-speed broadband connections are described and divided into distinct segments, with both end users and businesses under study.
• The third step is to create different usage profiles for broadband applications for each segment of the population and businesses in the future.
The forecasting model generates a market estimate for high-speed broadband connections, based on assumptions of optimal user experience, as well as primary and secondary application usage.
The single-user perspective is transformed into a household and enterprise model perspective. This ultimately leads to a potential market for broadband connections in Germany in 2025, with different usage categories and demand patterns within the population, along with specific upload and download speed requirements for private customers and various business segments.
