This enclosure is based on the flexible VariSTAR platform and is equipped with side reinforcement for increased robustness. Optional shock absorbers can further enhance the level of protection. Test results according to IEC 61587-1:2000-01 indicate shock resistance of up to 5g. Additional dynamic testing indicates earthquake resistance up to Bellcore Zone 4.
The cabinet consists of an open, welded frame to which an aluminum mounting plate can be added at the rear, if required, and a 19" rack at the front. If the cabinet is installed behind the train's interior lining, no lining pieces are needed. In this case, additional IP or EMC protection is also unnecessary. In such situations, climate control and component cooling are ensured by the existing air conditioning system inside the train. If direct integration is not possible, the VariSTAR cabinet's protective principle (structural and lining elements) protects sensitive data from interference radiation (tested according to IEC 61587-3). EMC sealing also provides protection against dust and water up to IP55. Scalable, modular, and energy-efficient cooling solutions offer optimal temperature control for the components housed in the cabinet.
The cabinet or rack is fixed to the train floor, ceiling, or wall. Internal partition. With dimensions typically of 1850 mm x 850 mm x 450 mm (height x width x depth) and an empty weight of 91 kg (without cladding elements), it offers the necessary space, robustness and low weight.
Wall-mounted cabinets with depths of 390, 500 and 600 mm.
Excel Wall Cabinets have been designed for the installation of cabling and equipment, for use in a wide range of applications, such as local area network (LAN) cabling and hardware, and for housing audiovisual and security equipment.
