The development of this solution was made possible by the high level of expertise of the technical development team at the Capellades plant (Barcelona, Spain). An innovative roll forming machine has been installed there, incorporating a laser welding system that creates the 18 folds of the profile, giving the Spacial range of cabinets their proven robustness. This technological innovation boasts high production capacity and is capable of rolling a distance of 14.4 km in a single day, which translates to more than 5,000 km per year.

The new range, manufactured in Capellades, will be exported to 75 countries. Schneider Electric has invested a total of €8 million in this new solution, representing 25% of the business of its universal enclosures division.
The new range consists of the Spacial SF, a modular metal enclosure that adapts to any configuration, and the Spacial SM, the simplest and fastest solution for installation. Available through all Schneider Electric distributors, this range is specifically targeted at panel builders, installers, and machine manufacturers, and addresses the needs of industrial control and automation, electrical distribution, and data transfer activities within the telecommunications, infrastructure, industrial, and renewable energy sectors. The range is being launched in gray (RAL 7035), following the current market trend for enclosures.

Universal envelopes1pThe benefits of this range are numerous: a versatile solution with over 600 different configurations that can be adapted to any location and/or project, optimizing existing space. Schneider Electric's new enclosures, along with their extensive range of accessories, are easy to install and designed to save up to 25% of assembly and installation time by simplifying wiring and switchgear mounting. The company has also developed a suite of support software that allows for easy and error-free component selection, thus accelerating the ordering process.
Efficiency is another key element of this Spacial range. The new Spacial SF enclosures can withstand loads exceeding 1,000 kg without structural deformation, making them the most robust on the market. Furthermore, they incorporate IP55 protection (dust and water tightness), IK10 protection (high impact resistance), and comply with the international standard IEC 62208 for empty enclosures of low-voltage equipment. The quality of this range is guaranteed by the recognition of international certification bodies, such as Bureau Veritas, UL, DNV and Germanischer Lloyd.
