Olex Incorporated announces the launch of its complete iPass+™ high-density interconnect solution, consisting of host-side board connectors and internal and external copper cable assemblies as well as active optical cables (AOC) capable of transmitting signals at 12 Gbps, in accordance with the SAS 3.0 specification, for distances up to 100 m.

The enhanced iPass+ HD system has been designed and developed to meet new performance standards in terms of speed and density.

These new Molex products offer nearly twice the density of current QSFP+ solutions, making the iPass+ HD interconnect system ideal for use in enterprise storage systems and large-scale data centers, such as redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID) and other networking and data storage applications. The HD products are fully compliant with SAS 3.0 (12 Gbps) systems and backward compatible with SAS 2.1 (6 Gbps) systems.

The Molex iPass+ HD interconnect product family includes:
• External passive copper cables (4x and 8x)
• Internal passive cables (4x and 8x)
• External integrated housing and connectors (4x, 8x and 16x)
• Internal rectangular and vertical connectors (4x, 8x and 16x)
• External active optical cables (4x)

These products are also compatible with data rates for 10 Gbps InfiniBand QDR, 10 Gbps Ethernet, 8 Gbps Fibre Channel, 40 Gbps Ethernet (4 x 10 Gbps) and 56 Gbps InfiniBand FDR (4 x 14 Gbps).
