Han Ex connectors have been designed to meet CENELEC's intrinsic safety requirements for electrical equipment in explosive dust atmospheres with codes ia, ib, and ic. This allows their use in ignition zones 0, 1, and 2. They also comply with DIN EN 60079-0 and DIN EN 60079-11 and are temperature rated T6 for use in ignition-risk areas at temperatures up to 85°C.
The Han Ex connector range includes an integrated cap, housing, and insert system specifically designed to meet intrinsically safe applications. HARTING's patented Han-Quick Lock® termination technology, offering maximum vibration resistance, allows for quick and easy assembly without special tools. Crimp terminations are also available for use with wires up to AWG 26. The inserts have an insulation resistance exceeding 10GΩ, and the housings are powder-coated in a standard blue color used to indicate the presence of an intrinsically safe circuit.
All connectors guarantee an IP65 protection rating when mated and are specifically designed for operation at ambient temperatures from -20°C to 40°C. The complete Han Ex range, with 4, 7, 8, and 12-pin variants, is now available from RS Components.
