Reliably transmitting the ever-increasing volume of data within trains is the biggest challenge facing modern rail operators. The correct selection of connectivity components is crucial for building secure and long-range networks.
In response to market demand, HUBER + SUHNER is launching RADOX® RAILCAT CAT7, a data bus cable for Ethernet network connections up to 10 Gbps. The 4-pair cable was specially developed for the railway sector and meets its stringent environmental and fire protection requirements, in accordance with DIN 5510-2 and prEN 45545-2. The new cable is ideally suited for use as a backbone for railway vehicles and enables a reliable connection to all connected systems and devices. It is available in 4x2x24 AWG and supports flexible routing thanks to its compact dimensions.
Like the entire RADOX® RAILCAT family, RADOX® RAILCAT CAT7 also features a cross-linked electron beam insulation material, RADOX® EM 104. This makes the cable particularly resistant to heat, cold, environmental factors, and weather.
HUBER + SUHNER will present the new data bus cable at InnoTrans 2012.
