In addition to the seamless conversion of serial ASCII to Ethernet telegrams, the program also includes, for the first time, gateways for integrating serial devices into industrial Ethernet protocols such as Modbus/TCP or Ethernet/IP. For flexible use, devices are available with one, two, or four serial ports and one or two Ethernet connections. The integrated switch enables easy interconnection with other Ethernet devices. This allows multiple serial devices to be easily connected to a device server and integrated into an automation network.
With the new range of servers for equipment and gateways, existing Ethernet and Internet installations with serial participants can be integrated and thus converted into machines suitable for Industry 4.0 without modifying existing installation concepts or having to discard them.
