SICK IO-Link Wireless Gateway

SICK has introduced its new IO-Link Wireless Gateway, designed for applications where cabling is impractical or not feasible. The IO-Link Wireless Gateway represents the evolution of the global IO-Link standard for intelligent, bidirectional industrial communication. SICK's new ecosystem of IO-Link wireless solutions includes the IO-Link Bridge, the IO-Link Hub, and the IO-Link Master. Both the Bridge and the Hub transmit data to the Master, while the IO-Link Hubs enable the connection of multiple sensors via their four IO-Link ports.

The IO-Link Master can manage up to 16 sensors simultaneously, and SICK's IO-Link Wireless Gateway ensures intelligent connectivity with a range of up to 20 meters and a minimum latency of only 5 ms.

The SICK IO-Link Wireless Gateway is installed via plug-and-play functionality, requiring no programming or complex wiring. Furthermore, sensors can be configured remotely via the IO-Link Wireless network, which ensures stable and accurate data transmission through technologies such as dynamic frequency hopping and interference blocking.

The point-to-point wireless communication system adapts to any existing PLC data infrastructure. The "Connect X" platform facilitates connection to various IIoT interfaces, such as REST and API, as well as multiple fieldbuses, including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT.
