The new VENUS SCM Distributor range is available in three sizes: VENUS FLA2, VENUS XL, and VENUS XXL. This provides cable-to-cable splice densities from 144 to 864 splices and termination capacities from 12 to 192 drops using internal couplers. The splice area can be equipped with the various SCM trays available in R&M's catalog for managing individual fibers. These trays are very easy to install and maintain. Up to 72 subscribers can be accommodated separately in a single distributor. The patch panels are also very easy to install and maintain and can be upgraded efficiently. The distributors allow termination with LC, SC, or E2000 connectors. For interconnection between the splicing and connection areas, system pigtails (multi-fiber pigtails in a common sheath for easier routing) are available in 12 and 24 optical fibers. For the connection area, splitter and CWDM modules are also available, allowing operators to easily multiply the use of each optical fiber within their infrastructure, building point-to-multipoint (P2MP) networks without any cable modifications. The new VENUS range also offers loop cabling capability
The distribution enclosures feature closures on both the top and bottom, allowing for up to four cable entries and ten exits in each area. They can accommodate all common cable types on the market, depending on their purpose: subscriber drops, loose cables, mini and micro cables, and patch cords. The routing of the entries and exits ensures a comfortable bend radius and a comprehensive fiber optic management system, including slack tube storage. These enclosures are made of robust, light gray ASA plastic, a material suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, meeting IP43 and IP54 specifications for moisture and foreign object ingress, depending on the types of cable entries and exits installed. The largest distribution enclosure, the VENUS XXL, measures 150 mm deep, 500 mm wide, and 600 mm high. The cover has internal latches and can be easily removed.
These new distributors maintain R&M's SCM system philosophy of guaranteeing a minimum bend radius of 40 mm at all fiber optic infrastructure routing and management points. This radius reduces stress on the optical conductor, minimizing signal attenuation and facilitating system operation and maintenance, as well as simplifying installation. This has a decisive effect on long-term, error-free transmission. With the SCM system, R&M is the only provider of this type of solution on the market that can guarantee a minimum bend radius of 40 mm even in high-density environments.
