A common installation configuration uses two ports for the trunk cable entry/exit and the remaining two for customer drops. Grommets with two or four holes are available, allowing for up to six drops (the same number as SC adapters). Alternatively, one port can handle four drops, with the remaining port used for fiber splitting. The fiber tray can accommodate a mini-splitter.
In short, the EL-124-B2 distribution box allows the designer and installer to configure different uses with a single, small-sized product: polypropylene housing, stainless steel screws, rubber gaskets and UV and moisture resistant grommets.
