The proposal is aimed at data centers, technical rooms and high-density network installations, where it is necessary to optimize the available space in the racks and facilitate installation and maintenance operations.

The system uses universal 1RU panels and Snap-In interchangeable cassettes, which can be inserted and removed without disassembling the entire structure. The panels are available in flat and angled versions, allowing for installation in various rack configurations.

1RU Panels with up to 48 Copper Ports.
One of the key features of e2XHD is its ability to combine different connectivity technologies using a common panel structure.
The high-density 1RU panels support up to 48 copper ports, allowing a large number of connections to be concentrated in a small space. Snap-in cassettes can be quickly installed and removed, simplifying expansion, relocation, and connection modification. This architecture also allows access to the rear cabling and management components without disassembling the entire panel. The copper modules are available in both empty versions, ready for field termination, and pre-terminated configurations.

Meanwhile, fiber optic cassettes are supplied pre-assembled to reduce installation tasks.

12- and 24-fiber MTP connectivity for 40 and 100 Gb/s networks.
The e2XHD platform incorporates fiber optic cassettes with 12- or 24-fiber MTP connections. Available configurations include OM3, OM4, and OM4+ multimode fiber, as well as single-mode versions. These options allow cabling to be adapted to different transmission needs and facilitate the evolution to 40 and 100 Gb/s applications. The ability to install optical cassettes alongside copper modules allows the same panel to be used for different communication services.

In this way, facilities can expand or modify their connections without needing to resort to independent paneling systems for each technology.

Support for shielded copper and Cat 8 connections:
The expanded platform includes support for shielded copper, intended for installations requiring enhanced protection against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI). Universal panels support e2XHD cassettes ready for field-installed connectors, as well as pre-terminated modules with UTP or shielded connections. Available options include Category 8 (Cat 8) compatible solutions. Atlas-X1 and eXtreme connectors can be installed directly into the cassettes after assembly.

The use of pre-connectorized shielded Atlas-X1 Cat 8 trunks is also being considered, which reduces certain termination operations during installation. According to the proposal submitted by COFITEL, these configurations facilitate both the initial deployment and subsequent modifications to the infrastructure.

Low-loss Engage optical components.
In addition to connection density, e2XHD incorporates solutions designed to maintain the performance of fiber optic links. The components in the Engage range, including trunks, matrix patch cables, and cassettes, utilize low-loss optical characteristics. This technology allows for extended reach of certain channels compared to industry-standard specifications. Reduced losses are crucial in high-speed links, where connectors, adapters, splices, and other passive components consume a significant portion of the available optical budget. The platform is designed for cabling architectures with two to six connection points per channel.

The offer is complemented by OPT-X fiber systems, which allow for the configuration of optical infrastructures adapted to different international projects and installations.

Modular architecture for easy maintenance.
The use of interchangeable cassettes allows for modification of the fiber and copper connection layout without necessarily replacing all installed panels. The open design facilitates subsequent access to modules, cabling, and management elements, which can reduce intervention times during maintenance tasks.

Leviton also offers blanking plates for panels and cassettes, designed to protect unused positions from dust and potential physical damage. The e2XHD platform thus combines high-density connectivity, pre-connectorization options, and compatibility with various cabling technologies. Its architecture allows for conventional copper installations, shielded connections, and fiber optic systems ready for 40 and 100 Gb/s applications.
