RMfoxs1This modular passive network technology program covers all levels of modern broadband infrastructure, from the data center and main distribution frame to the feeder, connection point, and access point, all the way down to the fiber optic outlets. The program is based on SCM, the single-circuit management system developed by R&M. It includes user-friendly splice trays for managing subscribers and individual fibers. The products and platforms in the R&Mfoxs range can be combined to suit your needs and support all commonly found topologies and cable types.

The R&Mfoxs range also includes optical distribution frames (ODFs) for large distribution sites, service cabinets and dividers, bell sleeves for underground distribution, outdoor cable enclosures, and field connectors with termination for the final connection segment. R&M also offers solutions within its product range for building drop installations and for broadband cabling within buildings. It focuses on a small number of easy-to-use components that can be expanded as needed.

RMfoxs2This approach simplifies planning, installation, and maintenance operations, as well as the management of conversions and subscribers. R&M states that its customers always have a clear overview of investment costs.
As a general rule, the platforms can be grouped using a quick assembly technique that requires no special tools, or from individually pre-terminated modules. This means that a large number of distribution points and home connections can now be established up to 30 percent faster than with conventional cabling systems. Furthermore, R&Mfoxs supports hybrid cabling. This allows network operators to use both copper and fiber optic infrastructure simultaneously and deploy the FTTH system gradually, as needed.

The distribution and tray technology developed by R&M operates at all network levels, with a bend radius of R40, which is particularly well-suited for fibers. Even with extremely high packing densities, the bend radius of the optical fibers is limited to 40 mm. This is a crucial criterion for ensuring the transmission performance and reliability required for future xWDM and high-capacity applications. This stress-free radius minimizes attenuation losses and simplifies handling during installation.

RMfoxs3A space for interchangeable labels and the use of numbers and color codes facilitate the management of large quantities of fibers. With the SCM range, R&M supports all current market strategies for FTTH, such as point-to-point (P2P) or point-to-multipoint (P2MP) and open access.
