The LUNAR box is being presented for the first time at the ANGA COM 2026 international trade fair in Cologne. R&M is showcasing application examples and providing information on the PreCon system for fiber optic cabling pre-termination. Fiber optic network operators and construction companies receive R&M's factory-tested, pre-terminated LUNAR distribution boxes, ready for immediate use. R&M assembles them according to the operators' project drawings and delivers them on time to the warehouse or construction site. Pre-termination eliminates the need for on-site fiber splicing. Only standard tools are required to mount the enclosed box on masts, facades, or suspension cables. R&M recommends combining the LUNAR box with HEC-QR connectivity for projects with a fast deployment schedule and limited resources.

The fiber optic distribution box is available in three sizes, up to 20 centimeters wide and with up to twelve ports. Cables are connected using the HEC-QR outdoor quick-release connector. This combination largely enables a "plug & play" configuration, where the pre-terminated box is mounted and, if necessary, connected with external connectors. Thanks to the modular design, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint network configurations are possible with splitter and fan-out cabling, as well as LC, SC, and MPO interfaces. The products meet IP68 protection criteria and IEC and Telcordia® GR-771 approvals. Applications include fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) projects with aerial deployment in rural areas, as well as fiber optic cabling in mobile phone base stations (Fiber to the Antenna, FTTA). R&M also sees potential applications in the digitization of railway and utility networks, as well as in the installation of data networks in harsh and industrial environments.
