Compared to the standard LC Duplex connector, the new model features a narrower center section, reducing the connector diameter by 1 mm. Consequently, the ferrule pitch has been reduced from 6.25 mm to 5.25 mm. Externally, the connector is identified by its new red duplex clip.
Usage: The new connector can be used with almost all types of fiber, both single-mode and multi-mode. Furthermore, the LC Mini Duplex connector is used in the Brocade DCX SAN-Director's "High-Density SwitchBlade." Combining these connectors with the "Mini SFP" allows for a density of up to 64 ports per switch.
