Furthermore, the development of new supports now allows for quality inspection of fiber optic connectors and a wider field of view of 2000 µm.
The CLEAVEMETER 3D is NYFORS' fiber optic end-end inspection interferometer. It can analyze a cut fiber and measure the fiber's cut angle. It is also capable of creating a complete 3D reconstruction of the end using phase-shift technology. With the new MEGAPIXEL VIEWER software update, which comes with the CLEAVEMETER 3D, NYFORS has not only changed the program's appearance and simplified its operation, but has also added a number of new and unique features.
The program can now measure and graphically display the depth of blade intrusion, which commonly occurs during a slitting process. Similarly, the program will flag other fiber damage such as debris or simply dust that has accumulated in the cut. The user can set an acceptable damage threshold. A new feature allows the user to access all this information, as well as the slitting angle, with a single click for each new optical fiber. The information is automatically recorded for future inspections. The user can also configure pass/reject criteria, enabling rapid post-process selection if needed.
In addition, NYFORS has developed new adapter plates for fiber optic connectors. These adapter plates enable high-precision end-end inspection of SMA and FC/PC adapters. The connectors are mounted on a highly stable and precise support, ensuring accurate measurements. More adapter plates compatible with Vytran, FITEL, and FUJIKURA fiber clamps are also available.
