Agreement between Samsung 1In this R&D project, led by Prof. Sergio Ríos, Samsung's Bada 2.0 and Android mobile terminals will be used, equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology that allows wireless communication between nearby devices with multiple uses such as data sharing or transactions.

This initiative arises from the need to implement mechanisms for monitoring mandatory class attendance as dictated by the regulations of the new Bologna curriculum and aims to help teachers and students comply with this mandatory requirement.

The agreement will allow for the development of a pilot experience during which the application will be tested in the real environment of a classroom, with the participation of the teacher and the students of the same, and whose purpose will be to be able to know and manage those cases that arise and thus avoid problems in the future.

Thanks to this solution, students can register their class attendance simply by tapping their device (with the previously downloaded app) against the NFC card located at the classroom entrance. They will immediately receive confirmation of their registration on their mobile device via the app and can view all their class attendance records in detail. For faculty, implementing this new attendance control system will eliminate the need for manual roll call, as they can view registered students and their attendance levels throughout the semester directly in the app, resulting in more efficient use of class time.

This agreement is yet another example of Samsung's clear commitment to innovation and training together with the Pontifical University of Salamanca, one of the most prestigious and recognized in the field of technology.
