In today's mobile app economy, it's crucial that mobile operator customers have winning experiences anywhere in the world. In a world of increasing travel and declining customer loyalty, mobile operators need to maintain a certain level of experience for outbound roaming users. To ensure a high-quality roaming experience—in terms of dropped calls, service interruptions, app performance, and data services—monitoring and testing must be performed consistently and systematically across multiple locations worldwide where roaming services are used.

In the past, such testing was often conducted using point-to-point robots in data centers around the world. However, this method has limited effectiveness, as these static robots always measure services under the same conditions, rather than testing the real-world user experience while moving around. For example, a foreign visitor landing in New York will most likely visit popular destinations such as Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or Times Square, and move dynamically throughout the city. By relying on static testing, it would be impossible for an operator to fully understand how the visitor's service experience is being affected as they move from one location to another, or in a popular location not covered by a static robot.

Mobileum's new M2M testing robots, complemented by the global Applause community, allow testing to take place where roaming actually occurs - at event locations, in congested locations, in tourist hotspots - at any time of day, on any day of the week.
