The operation is part of AYESA's business project of internationalization, innovation, and diversification in the information and communications technology sector. This step is fundamental to offering the engineering of the future, consolidating its position as a leading company in Spain, and competing in a global market. AYESA will pay special attention to emerging markets, where strategic positioning is currently crucial, and where it has already been present for several years with successful projects completed and underway.

AYESA has a presence in twenty-five countries, with branches in ten, and its revenue in 2011, following the integration of Sadiel, will exceed 230 million euros. Furthermore, as of today, the AYESA Group will have a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees worldwide.

After the operation, AYESA holds 51 percent of Sadiel. The remaining shareholders are: Endesa, 22%;, with 22% (through Soprea, SA), and Corporación Empresarial Cajasol, with 5%, are the remaining shareholders.

IDEA, which has been a shareholder in Sadiel since its inception, will continue to support its investment as part of its strategy to focus on strategic sectors. However, it is selling a portion of its stake to allow the private sector to take over, bringing in financially sound companies with a high level of technological development and the added benefit of exporting Andalusian technology.

According to José Luis Manzanares, president and founder of AYESA, “This transaction positions AYESA as a leading company in the international market, capable of competing with the highest quality and customer focus. With the integration of Sadiel, we achieve greater size; a more diversified portfolio of innovative products and services; new opportunities for international growth; and the structure of a cutting-edge technology company capable of meeting future challenges.” Furthermore, AYESA is taking decisive steps in the defense sector, aiming to strengthen its position in this strategic area.

José Luis Manzanares believes that the projects the Company has underway “represent a firm commitment to the future of engineering and technology in both developed and emerging countries. This, combined with wealth and job creation, is based on the conviction that Andalusian technology can play a leading role globally. It is during times of crisis that responsible companies must invest to help strengthen the innovative ecosystem our country needs. At AYESA, we are confident in the capacity of Spain and its companies to successfully navigate the future.”

Following the acquisition, Rafael Camacho, formerly CEO of Sadiel, will become the new Director General of International Corporate Relations, and Arancha Manzanares will become the new Executive Chairwoman. Arancha Manzanares holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering, has taught Structures at the University of Seville, and began her career at Abengoa before joining AYESA.
