Cyberlur (formerly AEI Cybersecurity) is an innovative, non-profit business group that works to promote the development of the cybersecurity sector at the national level, fostering business collaboration, innovation, talent development, internationalization, and public-private cooperation. It brings together companies, associations, R&D centers, and public and private entities that wish to promote the cybersecurity sector and its related industries.

For its part, ASCICAT, the cybersecurity cluster of Catalonia, brings together more than 50 companies, professionals and institutions of the ecosystem with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the sector, promoting valuable projects and generating a tangible return for its members.

Both organizations share a common vision of cybersecurity as a strategic element and enabler of digital transformation, key to business competitiveness and economic and social development. In this context, the agreement establishes a stable framework for interregional cooperation focused on action, knowledge sharing, and the mutual benefit of their respective ecosystems.

Thus, among the main lines of collaboration contemplated, the development of joint projects at the regional, national and European levels that generate economic and technological value through the strategic use of cybersecurity stand out.

Furthermore, one of the priority areas of this agreement will be the promotion of talent and specialized training. To this end, Cyberlur and ASCICAT will coordinate and connect their respective working groups on training and talent, developing joint initiatives such as shared talent observatories, sector surveys and barometers, as well as training modules, webinars, and collaborative workshops. In addition, actions will be promoted targeting students, vocational training centers, universities, and professionals in the sector.

Likewise, both entities will promote joint participation in working groups, the organization of events, technical conferences and networking activities; in addition to the preparation of studies, sector reports and position papers on strategic issues for the sector.

The agreement also includes the design of support programs for small and medium-sized enterprises to integrate cybersecurity into their digital transformation processes from the initial stages, as well as the promotion of the study, preparation and launch of innovation and R&D projects that contribute to the advancement of the cybersecurity sector and digital technologies.

“We believe that the alliance will facilitate the connection between companies, professionals and institutions of both groups, creating new opportunities for business collaboration and fostering the generation of joint initiatives that contribute to strengthening the state cybersecurity ecosystem,” emphasizes Xabier Mitxelena, president of Cyberlur.
