The acquisition of Itconic will further strengthen Equinix's position in Europe and expand its presence into two new countries in the region. The transaction includes the purchase of Itconic's five data centers, located in Madrid (x2), Barcelona, Seville, and Lisbon, adding approximately 322,000 gross square feet to the Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX®) data center portfolio. In addition, Cloudmas will bring to Equinix a team of highly skilled and specialized technology professionals with extensive experience in hybrid cloud architectures and cloud computing adoption and migration strategies.

The acquisition of Itconic will enable Equinix to support the growth of data traffic between Europe, Latin America, and Africa, driven by new submarine cable systems that will accelerate the globalization of data traffic and consumption, as well as the rapid growth of cloud and online services. Some of the submarine cables already connected to Itconic's Lisbon data center include ACE (African Coast to Europe), WACS (West Africa Cable System), and Tata Global Network, which will be joined in the future by the MainOne cable. In addition, the Seville data center is already connected to Canalink.

• Thanks to this operation, more than 250 employees will join the Equinix team in Europe, including the Cloudmas team, whose members have obtained numerous certifications for the deployment and support of services on leading Cloud platforms.
