Powered by a constellation of thousands of satellites, Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, designed to deliver fast and reliable satellite internet connectivity to customers who are beyond the reach of traditional networks.
The agreement incorporates Amazon's next-generation satellite technology into IBSAT's satellite technology portfolio, enabling reliable connectivity for the most demanding business use cases, including companies operating in remote locations in Spain and Portugal.
According to Javier Gómez, CEO of IBSAT, “this agreement represents an extraordinary business opportunity for our clients and for the more than 80 ISPs and agents that are part of the IBSAT ecosystem. It's an opportunity that will allow IBSAT and our partners to participate in this new and growing market in Spain and Portugal, under a solid and established collaboration model with IBSAT, leveraging the full capacity of the Amazon Leo satellite network.”
Amazon Leo is designed to meet the highest performance, reliability, and security demands of any business worldwide. Customers will connect to the service using various compact, high-performance antenna models. The Ultra model delivers download speeds of up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 400 Mbps, a capacity that supports even the most demanding enterprise applications.
IBSAT and its partner operators will offer Amazon Leo as part of their portfolio of solutions and services, tailored to key sectors across the region, including agriculture, aviation, construction, energy, hospitality, maritime, mining, multimedia, private networks, retail, healthcare, telecommunications, transportation, and other market segments and applications.
“At IBSAT, we are truly excited to bring Amazon Leo to businesses, together with our partners, with the goal of keeping them always connected. From large corporations to micro-enterprises, Amazon Leo offers reliable and secure connectivity, and IBSAT is proud to be part of this project to make it possible,” concludes Javier Gómez.
