Developed from the knowledge gained by Network Innovations over more than 20 years of real-world operational experience supporting military and WGS system customers on some of the most demanding missions, the new handheld terminal platform is designed to be the world’s first to support simultaneous Mil-X, military Ka-band, and commercial Ka- and Ku-band connectivity, with electronic switching across a wide range of Ka-band frequencies. Built specifically for operations using the WGS constellation, the system is designed to provide secure, resilient, and high-capacity communications for expeditionary forces and other mission-critical deployments. Deployable systems can be operational in as little as 30 minutes and have been designed from the ground up for multi-band and multi-orbit operations across LEO, MEO, GEO, and HEO constellations. The platform is also being designed to ensure interoperability with leading and emerging satellite networks, as well as sovereign NGSO constellations.
Built for demanding operating environments, the flyaway terminals are being designed to achieve full WGS certification and meet key military specifications (MIL-SPEC). Intellian also plans to introduce non-WGS commercial variants of the platform, expanding the technology to a broader range of government, enterprise, and critical communications applications.
“The development of our first portable ground tactical WGS platform represents a significant expansion of Intellian’s military and government product portfolio,” said Eric Sung, Intellian’s CEO. “By combining simultaneous military X-band and Ka-band capabilities, access to broader commercial Ka-band spectrum, and multi-orbit connectivity in a rapidly deployable architecture, we are addressing the increasingly complex communications requirements of modern defense operations. Our goal is to provide operators with greater flexibility, resilience, and guaranteed connectivity wherever their missions take them.”
