Under the terms of the JPA, Cisco will work with Telenor Group on its roadmap to accelerate digital transformation, drive new revenue streams, increase operational excellence, and enable safer customer experiences.
"The digitalization of societies requires new ways of working and new partnerships. We are excited to take our collaboration with Cisco to the next level, establishing a joint lab environment to explore Smart City solutions with one of Norway's largest municipalities, exploring different approaches to connect our customers with what matters most at every stage of their daily lives," says Ruza Sabanovic, Chief Technology Officer of the Telenor Group.
Telenor Group, in collaboration with Norway's smart city, will leverage the city's existing WiFi, WAN, and mobile connectivity to explore a next-generation model that protects, connects, and empowers communities. Telenor Group will utilize Cisco's data platform, Cisco Kinetic, to extract, compute, and transfer data from connected devices to various applications, exploring potential business benefits.
“Cisco and Telenor Group are building a highly secure, IP-centric network foundation that will grow with them as they expand their businesses to explore new IoT services and Smart City applications,” said Peter Karlstromer, senior vice president, global services provider at Cisco. “By applying data analytics across the selected application platform with Cisco’s AppDynamics, Telenor Group will have the opportunity to explore real-time application performance to deliver better customer experiences.”.
