The transaction will allow Vertiv to expand its thermal and fluid management service capabilities in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Financial terms have not been disclosed, and Vertiv indicates that it does not expect the transaction to have a significant impact on its financial results.
Liquid Cooling Services
develops activities related to the preparation and maintenance of fluid circuits used in cooling infrastructure.
Its services include system preparation, flushing, filtration, water treatment, commissioning, and operational validation. The company also performs thermal load testing on liquid cooling infrastructure and electrical load testing for critical power systems.
These capabilities cover different stages of the infrastructure lifecycle, from pre-commissioning preparation to monitoring and maintenance during operation.
Fluid Management in High-Density Data Centers:
The increased thermal densities associated with artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads are driving the widespread use of liquid cooling systems in data centers.
In these facilities, the fluid's characteristics and condition are key parameters that determine the thermal circuit's performance.
Problems such as contamination, trapped air, corrosion, unsuitable chemical composition, or flow imbalances can reduce heat transfer and affect equipment performance or even cause degradation.
Therefore, fluid management extends beyond initial filling and commissioning. It also includes filtration, treatment, monitoring, and maintenance throughout the installation's lifespan.
Thermal and Electrical Load Testing.
Another capability provided by KES is load testing performed before the facilities become operational.
Thermal load testing allows the cooling infrastructure to be subjected to controlled conditions to verify its performance before the IT workloads are put into operation.
KES also performs electrical load tests to validate critical power supply systems.
These activities allow for the pre-commissioning verification of the thermal and electrical systems' performance and the detection of potential issues during the commissioning phases.
Continuing the strategy initiated with PurgeRite
, the acquisition of KES will geographically expand a service portfolio that Vertiv already strengthened in North America through the purchase of PurgeRite, completed in December 2025.
With KES, Vertiv aims to extend these fluid management capabilities to the EMEA region and combine them with its thermal and electrical infrastructure services.
KES is headquartered near Dublin, Ireland, and serves customers in various markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Upon completion of the transaction, the added capabilities will encompass fluid management, commissioning, thermal and electrical load testing, and services related to the operation of liquid cooling infrastructure.
