Founded in 2016 and headquartered in the UK, CoolTera provides liquid cooling infrastructure solutions and designs and manufactures coolant distribution units (CDUs), secondary fluid networks (SFNs), and manifolds for liquid cooling solutions in data centers. CoolTera and Vertiv have been technology partners for three years and have collaborated on multiple global deployments in data centers and supercomputing systems. The acquisition of CoolTera will bring advanced cooling technology, extensive technical expertise, controls and systems, manufacturing capabilities, and testing expertise for high-density computing requirements to Vertiv’s already robust portfolio of thermal management solutions, as well as key industry collaborations already established within the ecosystem for these types of applications. CoolTera has a proven track record of engineering excellence and outstanding customer service, supported by a team of highly skilled liquid cooling engineers.
“This complementary technology acquisition aligns with our long-term strategic vision focused on value creation and strengthens our expertise in high-density cooling solutions,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “While the cost of the transaction is not significant for Vertiv, the acquisition is essential to further expanding our liquid cooling portfolio, enhancing our ability to serve the needs of our global data center customers, and reinforcing our position and capabilities for scaling AI.”.
“Joining the Vertiv family was a natural fit,” added Mark Luxford, CEO of CoolTera. “We are excited to be part of the leader in data center thermal management. Vertiv has demonstrated the ability to scale technologies at the pace required by AI deployment. We look forward to collaborating as one team to deliver the next generation of liquid cooling technologies at the scale the industry demands. Vertiv is well-positioned to support the industry’s growth.”.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized during the last quarter of 2023, subject to customary pre-signing conditions.
