Following a competitive process based on a prequalification questionnaire (PQQ), GreenScale has selected Vertiv as its preferred supplier of standardized, prefabricated Vertiv™ OneCore hybrid data centers. While GreenScale will handle the foundation and site infrastructure construction, Vertiv will supply AI-ready data center modules designed to support liquid-cooled deployments of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB200/300 graphics processing units (GPUs), including next-generation Vera Rubin GPUs.
“AI workloads demand density and speed,” said Vedran Brzic, vice president of infrastructure solutions for EMEA at Vertiv. “By integrating the Vertiv OneCore platform into the standard GreenScale design, we can help accelerate the deployment of scalable infrastructure for AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and high-density environments. Our prefabricated, scalable solution integrates our power, thermal management, and IT infrastructure technologies into a single, factory-assembled system, enabling customers to deploy high-density capacity more efficiently while increasing reliability and performance.”
The Vertiv OneCore platform supports over 200 kW per rack and incorporates coolant distribution units (CDUs) with a dual-loop liquid cooling system. The platform is complemented by the Vertiv™ SmartRun prefabricated overhead infrastructure, which includes an integrated secondary fluid network (SFN) for liquid-cooled thermal management, optimized for GPU-intensive architectures, as well as power distribution. The modules are delivered factory-assembled and tested, while GreenScale will provide comprehensive on-site services, including grid integration, permitting, battery management systems (BMS) and security, and foundation construction.
“Our collaboration with Vertiv aligns perfectly with GreenScale’s mission to rapidly deploy highly efficient, AI-ready infrastructure across Europe,” said Dan Thomas, CEO of GreenScale. “By standardizing using Vertiv’s prefabricated platforms, we gain significant advantages in terms of speed to market, quality control, and operational efficiency. Their proven expertise in high-density cooling solutions and their factory-integrated approach allow us to minimize on-site complexity while optimizing our installations for the most demanding AI workloads. This standardized platform approach will be key to executing our ambitious expansion plans in Northern Ireland and the Nordic countries.” GreenScale plans to expand with approximately 120 MW in Northern Ireland and more than 300 MW in the Nordic countries, with a long-term vision to deploy close to 1 GW across Europe. The company aims to implement an innovative high-performance computing model that aligns its goals and timelines with technology providers capable of efficiently offering scalable and AI-ready solutions.
