Available in Sweden since early November, the TELIA SENSE service combines ZTE's innovative Internet of Things (IoT) device, developed by ZTEWelink, a ZTE subsidiary focused on M2M/IoT, with a cloud platform and application from SpringWorks, a telematics platform provider under the Telia brand. TELIA SENSE offers users a rich application experience.

Based on the 4G DAB smart device, TELIA SENSE provides users with a stable and reliable 4G Wi-Fi connection that can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously. Users can also view the vehicle's location, create virtual fences, and receive alerts for vehicle incidents through an app to better understand driving behavior and save on fuel consumption. Through cooperation between Telia and a third-party service provider, users can also obtain lower premiums and find the nearest garage when maintenance is needed or a vehicle breakdown occurs. Additional TELIA SENSE services are expected in the future.

"In terms of automotive IoT, the connected car is rapidly replacing smartphones as more and more operators and TSPs decide to expand into the IoT market with a DAB connection solution, which will provide them with the data to develop more value-added business services," said Zhang Shumin, Vice President of ZTE Corporation. "We are delighted to partner with Telia to help better serve car owners with telematics data."

As a wireless communication solutions provider, ZTEWelink is continuously exploring the field of telematics under the guidance of ZTE's mobile ICT (M-ICT) strategy. Currently, the company can provide a device solution, a complete device and platform solution, a standard interoperability solution between TSPs and an application server, as well as numerous demonstration scenarios to serve as references for building different platforms that may be required by customers in various situations across different geographical regions.
