TeliaSonera International Carrier customers can now enjoy a significant increase in network capacity. The company has deployed a new network across Europe to cope with the enormous growth in data traffic. Nokia Siemens Networks built this new network to deliver speeds of 100G and more. The existing optical network for the operator was also provided by the supplier.

Under this contract, Nokia Siemens Networks deployed a new 100G DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing) network based on its hiT7300 platform*, which is operating with coherent CP-QPSK** technology. By offering DCM-free transmission, this solution enables lower latency and allows for a fast and cost-effective transition to 100G line speeds. The CP-QPSK modulation format is also used to enhance the performance of TeliaSonera's existing network. Nokia Siemens Networks also provides a full suite of support services, including software maintenance, help desk support, and spare parts management services.

TeliaSonera was honored with "The Best Next Generation Global Optical Service Provider" award at the 14th WDM and Optical Networks Conference in Monaco, June of this year.
