The projects will be implemented over three years and were selected by the EU from a total of 16 proposals received from facilities across Europe.

The 5TONIC laboratory is participating in the 5G-EVE, 5G-VINNI, and 5GENESIS projects, which are part of the EU's Horizon 2020 program. Together, they constitute a €50 million tripartite initiative driven by the European Commission's 5G PPP organization, which will also attract investment commitments from the ICT industry exceeding that amount several times over.

The three selected projects are:
5G EVE (European Platform for Comprehensive 5G Test Validation) aims to create the foundation for the end-to-end deployment of 5G networks in Europe. 5G-EVE supports this transition by offering vertical industries, and all Phase 3 projects of the 5G PPP program, facilities to validate network and service key performance indicators (KPIs).

5G-VINNI (Infrastructure for Innovation in 5G Verticals) seeks to accelerate 5G adoption in Europe by providing an end-to-end (E2E) facility that validates the performance of new 5G technologies through operational testing of advanced vertical sector services.
5GGENESIS (5th Generation End-to-End Network for Experimentation, Demonstration, and Systems Integration). This project will create an integrated end-to-end 5G facility, where 5G network KPIs for various 5G use cases can be validated and collected in order to achieve their integration into a complete and unified end-to-end 5G platform.
