This report covers 31 countries across Europe—the EU27, plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and the UK—and analyzes the availability of ten broadband technologies (DSL, VDSL, VDSL2 Vectoring, DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, DOCSIS 3.1, FTTP, FWA, LTE, 5G, and satellite) in each market, at both the national and rural levels. In addition, several combination categories are also published, indicating the availability of one or more broadband connection types.
These cover the general availability of fixed broadband, the availability of next-generation access (NGA), and the general availability of FTTP and DOCSIS 3.1. This report provides an overview for all of Europe, comparisons between countries, and year-on-year trends.
In addition, the evolution of broadband coverage in the countries of the study is analyzed in the individual chapters for each country.
